The generator turns a plain description of your app into a database schema you can review, refine and then create as a Xano backend.
Write what you want to build in a sentence or two, or start from a template: E-commerce, Social Media, Blog, Task Management, Booking System, Learning Platform, Fitness Tracker or Portfolio.
Xano AI proposes the tables, fields and relationships for your idea, with a short summary. Switch between a table view and a spreadsheet view with sample data to check it reads the way you expect.
Ask Xano AI for changes in plain words, choose sequential or UUID table IDs, or start over. Nothing is created until you say so.
Click Create and the schema becomes the starting point of a Xano workspace on PostgreSQL. You can customize everything else in Xano.
Each template sends a one-sentence description of the app, and you can write your own the same way. The generator answers with the tables, fields and relationships it proposes for that idea. Review them before you create anything: a schema is easier to change now than after your APIs depend on it.
“An online store for selling products with features like product catalog, shopping cart, and secure checkout.”
“A system for scheduling appointments, reservations, or bookings for various services.”
“An educational platform for online courses, lessons, and interactive learning materials.”
After you create the workspace, npx @xano/sdk init my-app --from workspace reads it back as TypeScript, so your coding agent
can build the APIs on top of the schema with the Xano SDK, run them on the Xano Engine on your machine, then deploy to
Xano.
Yes. You can describe an app and generate a schema at no cost, with no account. You sign up only when you click Create to turn the schema into a Xano backend, and Xano’s Free plan costs nothing. Use of Xano AI is subject to Xano’s Terms of Service and AI Terms of Use.
PostgreSQL. When you click Create, the schema becomes the starting point of a Xano workspace, and every Xano workspace stores its data in a standard Postgres database, not a proprietary store. The schema stays visible and versioned next to the logic that uses it. Xano’s database.
Yes. Before you create anything, ask Xano AI for changes in the chat or start over. After you click Create, the schema is only the starting point for your backend: you can customize everything else in Xano, and your coding agent can keep building on it in TypeScript with the Xano SDK.
Yes. Before you click Create, choose sequential or UUID table IDs at the bottom of the schema panel. The choice applies to the tables the generator creates in your new workspace. Sequential IDs are the default, and you can switch between the two as often as you like before you create.
It works best on desktop. On screens narrower than a tablet, the page shows a notice instead of the generator, with a link to start building in Xano directly. Open the page on a larger screen to describe your app, review the schema and refine it in the chat.
