Who is Xano built for?
Maturing teams. You build in TypeScript with AI: your coding agent writes the backend with the Xano SDK, you run it on the Xano Engine on your machine, then deploy it to Xano, where the whole team sees what got built in the Xano editor. Our largest customers are professional engineering teams running mission-critical production systems.
Can backend development on Xano scale?
Yes. The backend you build on day one is the same backend that runs at production scale. API and database nodes auto-scale for traffic spikes, each workspace runs in single-tenant containers orchestrated by Kubernetes on Google Cloud, and background tasks and scheduled jobs run on the same platform, so you never re-platform.
Is Xano a good fit for developers building scalable backends for apps and agents?
Yes. Developers write the backend in TypeScript with the Xano SDK, usually with a coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and run it locally before deploying. Web apps, mobile apps, partner integrations and AI agents all call the same APIs, so business logic and security rules live in one governed place.
What kind of apps can I build on Xano?
Anything that needs a backend: customer-facing SaaS products, internal tools, AI-powered applications, mobile app backends, marketplace platforms, and more. If it needs a database, APIs, and business logic, Xano can power it.
How does Xano compare to Supabase?
Supabase gives you Postgres, auth, storage, and edge functions. You still build, deploy, and maintain your business logic and orchestration yourself. Xano gives you the full backend (database, logic builder, API generation, auth, deployment) plus one shared picture that lets you see and govern everything that’s running.
Can I use Xano with AI coding tools?
Yes. npx @xano/sdk agent-skill install adds the xano-backend skill to the coding agent you already use, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and it writes your backend in TypeScript with the Xano SDK, grounded in the SDK’s llms.txt and the AGENTS.md that init drops into every project. Deploy it to the Xano Engine on your machine with npm run xano:deploy, run npx xanosdk test run-all, and put it on Xano’s cloud with npm run xano:deploy:ephemeral, all from your terminal.
What happens when my app needs to scale?
Nothing, and that’s the point. Xano’s infrastructure auto-scales with your traffic. You don’t need to re-architect, re-platform, or hire a DevOps team. The backend you build on day one handles production scale.
What security and compliance standards does Xano meet?
Xano supports SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and HDS compliance out of the box. Every workspace is single-tenant and containerized, with data encrypted in transit and at rest, role-based access control, and SSL/TLS protection.
