What does the Xano platform include?
Xano includes every stage of the backend lifecycle on one platform. Build: a PostgreSQL database, APIs, realtime channels, tasks, triggers, agents and MCP servers, written in TypeScript with the Xano SDK. Run and test: workflow tests, unit tests and sandbox environments. Deploy: branching, tenant releases and self-hosting. Observe: request history and error logs. Govern: RBAC, SSO and audit logs.
Where does Xano run?
Your backend runs on the Xano Engine on your machine (a single binary with Postgres built in), in CI, and in Xano’s cloud, with dedicated infrastructure from the Essential plan up. On Custom plans, Xano also runs in your own AWS, Azure or GCP account, or on-prem, with tenants isolated per client or region.
Can I bring my own cloud?
Yes. On the Custom plan, Xano runs in your own AWS, Azure or GCP account, or on-prem, with separate tenants for data, resource and regional isolation, SSO, high availability and 24/7 monitoring. Every release is an immutable, version-controlled deploy object, in your cloud or ours, with instant rollback.
